Hi Joe,
Yes tonsil stones can definitely contribute to bad breath. It is possible that you may still have small tonsil stones and just aren’t aware of them. It takes a while for your tonsil stones to be visible to you, as often tonsil stones aren’t visible at all. Tonsil stones, also known as tonsilloliths are often misdiagnosed and fairly common. Tonsil stones are caused by the accumulation of sulfur-producing bacteria and debris that become lodged in your tonsils – stones themselves are very smelly. These can also lead to bad breath, but perhaps you are countering this with good oral care.
You may want to consider seeing your dentist, but most likely you can remove them at home. Use an oxygenating toothpaste and mouthwash. When used in combination with nasal sinus drops it should eliminate your tonsil stones.
There’s a really good site here: http://www.tonsilstones.com/
I hope this helps!
they certainly do cause bad breath and just cuz you don't feel them doesn't mean you don't still have them.
i'm 24 and i had a tonsillectomy due to tonsil stones in 2009. prior to that i had suffered with them for 10yrs!
