How much would it cost to fill a tooth and cap it?!
Question: How much would it cost to fill a tooth and cap it?
A while back, I was eating some honey roasted peanuts and I guess I bit one at the wrong angle and it broke one of my side teeth, on the outer side of it. Since then, it's eroded away a little more and it definitely looks like I'll need a filling and even a cap. I don't have insurance, either.

Depending how long ago the decay started, it all depends on now how deep the decay has gone. You have two options when you get to the dentist. They will either pull the tooth or decide to do a filling and crown. If they do a filling/crown they will prep the tooth, and charge for a "crown build-up" and get you an impression to make the crown. You are looking at about $100 for the crown build-up and about $500-$650 for a crown. Depending on the crown type you could get a PFM, which is porcelain fused to metal... that is the most common type of crown. I hope this helps.
