finding a reputable and affordable oral surgeon for wisdom tooth extraction?!
Question: Finding a reputable and affordable oral surgeon for wisdom tooth extraction?
I have very limited dental insurance which would cover at most 10% of the expense(which I was quoted around 900 where I live in Florida which is near Jacksonville)
1. Should I look at American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons or can a dentist do the extraction?
2. The wisdom tooth is in lower right jaw and slanting.
3. I heard dentists who take the insurance offered at http://www.1dental.com/ use shortcuts to compromise on patient health in order to be profitable. How much is this correct?

the AOMS is a great place to look for an oral surgeon, yes.
As far as dentists taking shortcuts goes, the only ones I know of that usually take short cuts are those who accept medicaid en masse. Some dentists accept a little bit of medicaid because they think they'll help people by doing so. Others accept a ton of it and take short cuts so they can actually make money. Medicaid doesn't reimburse enough for a provider to make any money usually.
