Something comming out of my gums?!
Question: Something comming out of my gums?
Hey guys, about 3 weeks ago I must have been eating chips or something and poked a hole in my gums. Well it hurt for a while till I went to the dentist and she prescribed some penicillin. The hurting went away, but the puncture in my gums has not closed and every couple of days i pull out a little brittle white substance. At fist I thought it was my tooth was falling apart but apparently not because I feel no pain whatsoever and the substance is way too brittle to be chipped piece of tooth. Any ideas? Calcium maybe? I don't know I'm clueless.
Answers:
The dentist gave you Penicillin because you have a infection.
You need to go back and receive more treatment. It could be a abscess tooth. Sometimes the infection travels out the side of the gum to pupate the infection, thus the pain relief.
