Sometimes when a filling is deep it can irritate the nerve in the tooth and can cause the pain you describe, usually this settles down on it's own without treatment!. It would be a good idea to pop back and let your dentist check that your filling isn't too high, ie; taking the full force when you bite together, this can also cause intermittent pain, simply grinding a little filling off will help, good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com
sometimes when an amalgam filling is done and the amalgam cavity is near tooth pulp this kind of pains occur after filling !.!.!. if the pulp has not been affected or damaged yet , it will be fine with in afew days !.!.!. but if the pulp is damaged or affected you will need a Root canal Therapy !.!.!. wait for few days of the pain contiinues or it is proviked by cold water or heat visit your dentsit againWww@Answer-Health@Com
usually amalgam fillings contain mercury which is toxic to the pulp of your teeth especially if the caries was deep!.so u should give your teeth a time ranging from 2 weeks to 1 month for the pulp to regain it's healthy state again !.but if pain persists contact your dentistWww@Answer-Health@Com
