Spit sinks optional?!

Question: Spit sinks optional!?
Is it no longer standard for dental offices to have spit sinks beside every chair!?

I was stunned to discover spit sinks only in the teeth-cleaning part of the dental office, and not beside the chairs in the area used for more complicated procedures!. (At those chairs, a hygienist suctions out the saliva!.)

Has anyone else experienced this nowadays!? If it's a cost-cutting measure on the part of the practice, it's a false economy because I'm changing dentists!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes, you are very right to point out this thing!.!.!.!.!.!.but trust me it was a Big news for me too!. Yes, I agree that the chair side assistant holds the suction tip to suck the saliva!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.but even that I have experienced all these years, that even when there is very little in patient's mouth to be spitted out !.!.!.!.but we MUST give him/her proper space ( at chairside only) to spit out!.!.!.!.!.it gives a nice clean feeling to the patient !. I am indeed very much surprised!. I trust or what we have learnt from experience is that the suctions sucks the fluids which accumulate while any dental procedure is underway!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.but for normal saliva or patient feeling like to spit ( for no reason, whatsoever !!.!.!.!.never mind ),we have to respect her needs/wants!.

No, I dont feel it is a cost-cutting procedure !.!.!.!.but could be the new models of dental chair units are not having this feature!.

Anyway, your question enlightened me about the some of the dental work area problems faced by the patients!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.for which generally we take the patients for guaranteed!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

pretty much all practices don't have spit sinks beside attached to the chairs nowadays!. It depends on what your dentist choses to purchase for his/her set-up!. They also get in the way & add to already cramped opperatories!. It is also just easier to use a saliva ejector for patients, as opposed to having them spit in the bowl!.!.!.and seeing them spit on top of it all!Www@Answer-Health@Com
