I had this done, about 7 hours ago!
Root canal these days is totally painless!. I have a very good dentist, but all the same- you'll be fine!!!
If you're a little nervous, they can give you Nitrous Oxide- 'Happy Gas' esentially, which doesn't work so much as a pain relief but helps to calm you down (almost sends you to sleep!.!. Apparantly I get rather happy hehe!. I really is a happy gas!)
They'll give you shots of a local anesthetic in your mouth, which will totally numb the area and they'll get down to business!. Depending on how much they drill the tooth, you will feel pressure on the tooth (no pain!.!. just the feeling of having someone press against it) and the drill is a little loud, that's the only issue there!.
Don't worry, if you do happen to feel ANY pain what so ever, just put your hand up, they'll stop and they'll inject a tad more novacaine (I had 6 shots as I had a periapical abscess and it took alot to get throuhg hehee)
The procedure doesn't even last that long, and heck- bring yoru ipod or something along, and think about something else! You wont feel anything, and you wont need to worry!. Just relax!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Its basically a root canal filling!. It is painless as you will have an injection beforehand to numb the area!.

What the dentist will do is drill the inside of your tooth away, take x rays so they can see the root, drill the roots away (3 in a molar), take another x ray to make sure they have got the roots and then fill it with special stuff!. I had to have a crown fitted after my root canal as my tooth was very weak but again, this does not hurt!.

The good thing is, it totally gets rid of all your pain!. You can put an ice cube on it and you wouldnt feel it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

hi i think this is whats known as a root canal filling, where rather than take the tooth out they remove the nerves and fill the tooth, to stop any more pain occuring!Www@Answer-Health@Com
