It has been a week since my tooth extraction....can I smoke now?!

Question: It has been a week since my tooth extraction!.!.!.!.can I smoke now!?
I had two teeth extracted (back molars) and three wisdom teeth out last week!. I stopped smoking two days prior to surgery and have not smoked since (now it is 8 days later)!. I am going a little bit insane!. I am super worried about having a dry socket and one of the extractions doesn't look like it has closed up!. The oral surgeon who did the follow-up said everything was healing ok and I could eat now, but can I smoke!? I assume I have passed the dry socket threshold but it worries me that one of the sockets looks open still!.!.!.!.

So I guess I am asking (1) when can I smoke and (2) am I going to get a dry socket soon even if i haven't smoked because it might not have clotted right!?

Please help!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Eight days!? Good for you!

Yes, you can smoke, but why bother!? You've come this far and you're trying to quit anyway, so why not see if you can make it to day nine, day ten, etc!.!.!.!? Just keep up the good work, keep yourself motivated, and put 'a pack's worth' of money every day into a little jar for yourself 'for a rainy day'!. With the price of cigarettes these days, you'll have a 'fun fund' in no time!

You are well on your way to a complete recovery, and have indeed passed the dry socket threshold, as you put it!.

I wish you luck!
