Question:
What is the white yellowish ball that gets stuck in the back of your throat and you spit it out and it stinks?
Answers:
They're called tonsil stones. Alot of people get them. The easiest way to remove one when you spot one is to dip a q-tip in hydrogen peroxide and GENTLY push it off of your tonsil. If it doesn't come off, it's not ready to yet.
They're caused by a multitude of things. Your tonsils are basically exposed lympth nodes to help prevent chest and throat infections (although in some people they're more of a problem than a help with this until they have their tonsils removed or outgrow it.) Sometimes tonsil stones are white blood cells left over from fighting off an infection in your chest or throat. Sometimes it's food particles caught in your tonsils. Sometimes it's post nasal drip, and others are caused by unknown reasons.
Gargle the back of your throat with salt water/peroxide mix or a mouth rinse and it'll keep the stink down and help prevent new tonsil stones from forming.
