I will never taste again on the beggining of my tongue because of a dental appli!

I will never taste again on the beggining of my tongue because of a dental appliance.?
I used to have a dental appliance that was at the top off my mouth that was spacing mt teeth, and everytime i went to sleep the wires at the bottom of the appliance went in my tongue and i kept waking up witha numb tongue, after about a month, I got it changed to a flat more comfortable appliance but now its been almost 5 months and my taste buds still havent came back. The only way i can taste is at the end of my tongue were the old appliance never touched, Will it stay like this forever? what can I do? The dentist cant help me and I want all of my taste buds to come back and not just to have a half tongue that can taste and the oher half cant.

Well you must tell your dentist about it, he will probably refer to some specialist. For now you can rinse mouth with luke warm salt water three times a day and before going to sleep
