How can you tell if you have a cavity or just a toothache?!

The only way to really tell if you have a cavity is to have an x-ray taken or have it probe with an explorer by a dentist. Sometimes you can tell by probing the tooth with an explorer to see if the enamel of the tooth w/c is the first layer, is soft or not. So go see your dentist if you want to know.

if it is sensitive to cold chances are it's a cavity and you need a root canal
