Have to get wisdom teeth pulled...?!

Question:

Have to get wisdom teeth pulled...?

was wondering if anyone from experience knows the best way to not feel pain. I have the options of either getting eight shots, (two for each one), given a shot to be put to sleep, given laughing gas, or nothing at all. Of course the last one is out, but anyone have opinions on what is the best way to go? Thanks

I was also wondering how it feels and what happened afterwards. I know it's not bad and goes well, but wanted to hear some stories. Also, my dentist told me the laughing gas would make me feel as if I was drunk but still awake during it, and the 8 shots would num my teeth, but I've heard some have had both done.

Answers:

Ok, no matter how you decide, almost always an oral surgeon or dentist will give you local anesthetic. THe laughing gas will help if you are nervous about getting them out. if makes you care less about whats going on. as for the shot to put you to sleep.......u won't remember much of anything. Afterwards, all you gotta do is take it easy! Don't drink through a straw, no smoking, no caffiene, and no carbonated water. IF you eat something....its probably gonna have to be soft. IF you take it easy the first couple of days, you'll be ok. pain wise.....you might feel some throbbing, but take your meds like the doc tells you to. if they give you tylenol 3 with codeine, make sure you eat a heavy meal, if not...it will make your experience WORSE. I know from experience!
