Question:

Does anyone know whether or not the Crest whitening rinse actually works? (or the Listerine) is it a ripoff?

thank you! :)

Answers:

Yes, it is a rip off. The amount of time that the active bleaching ingredients are in your mouth is not enough for the product to be effective, even after long term use. To give you an idea, the bleaching solutions used in professional dental whitening are active for 5 hours in your mouth, and it takes on average two weeks of nightly wear for your teeth to reach their maximum potential. For a 30 second dose, these rinses are a waste of your time and money. Regular rinses are equally as effective in that they can often remove what is left of any plaque deposits that may have been missed by your toothbrush, whitening to a degree.
