Why would my dentist tell my son to stop using sonicare because of gingivits?
Answers:
Some people don't do a good job brushing with electric toothbrushes. I work for an orthodontist and we tell patients that it's fine to use those but if we notice that the patient has bad OHI we'll tell them to switch. Sometimes, especially with younger ones, they aren't being thorough with electric toothbrushes. Using a plain toothbrush might make them work a little harder when they're brushing because they don;t have the idea that the toothbrush is kind of doing it for them.
