Biting my teeth.?!

Question:

Biting my teeth.?

i have a question.
At times i go through these phases where i find myself
biting my teeth together.
..i'll wake up and my teeth will feel sore and i'll realize that i'm actually biting them together, or after i've eaten. Those only happens occasionally, but i get worried that i'll permanently damage them or reshape them..
Why does that happen? And how can i stop it?
Thank you!
xx

Sounds like you're grinding. If you are doing it in the daytime, mostly likely you are doing it at night. My husband and I have the same problem. It's caused chipping (both), a cracked tooth (him), worn down teeth (him), sore jaw when we wake (both) and caused our teeth to move forward slightly (both). Get a mouth guard from your dentist or the drugstore (get the ones you boil and fit to your teeth). Don't use the sports one. I got one where it's molded to your teeth. Wear it every night. It stops contact from the top and bottom teeth. It can't undo the damage already but can help from further damage. Good luck!
