Good DAy. What are the good and bad side effects of tooth implants?!

Question:

Good DAy. What are the good and bad side effects of tooth implants?

Answers:

Good effects :
Implants are the best replacement for your "missing or non savable" teeth available in the market right now.

Bad effects :
1. Remember implants are best for replacing missing teeth or non savable teeth. If your tooth can be saved by doing R.C.T. you should go for R.C.T., rather than getting implant. Implants are artificial prosthesis. While R.C.T. treated tooth is your own natural tooth. Even the best artificial prosthesis cannot be better than natural body part.

2.About 50% of the implants placed by a General dentist are a failure. Which means they will have to be replaced within 5 - 7 years.

3. Implants are expensive. A single tooth implant could cost about 3000 to 5000 $. Price of a R.C.T. including crown that is placed after R.C.T. is about $ 1400 - 2400 (depending on the tooth). An implant dentures that replaces all teeth on the top and the bottom could run around 15,000 - 20,000.

4. Implants are time consuming. Takes about 3-6 months for the complete procedure which involves surgery and multiple dental visits. ( Which means time off from work and loss of wage etc. )

And finally there is something that not even your dentist will tell you. Most of the dentist will opt for R.C.T. over Impant in their loved ones . These are the same dentist who will tell you to go for Implant rather than R.C.T.
