Wear braces elastics only at night?
I just went the orthodontist. For the past 2 months I've been wearing elasitc rubber bands on my braces in a triangle shape, on rubberband on each side, for 24 hours a day. Now I'm wearing elastic bands that stretch kind of from the mid lower teeth to the upper corner. These things are a pain to take off and put on.
I'm wondering if I should just wear the rubberbands at night. My bite isn't perfect but I really don't care about my overbite, it isn't that bad and I know lots of people with a worse overbite then mine is right now. My next appointment in two months is going to be the moulding for my retainers, then after that my braces come off. My question is, will only wearing my elastics at night push the date back, or since I don't really care will it not matter?

It is important to wear your elastics all the time...that's if you want your braces off any time soon. Your orthodontist should have explained that for every day you don't wear them you pretty much go back 2 days in your treatment.
You may not be concerned about your overbite but i'm certain that your orthodontist will not want to take your braces off until your bite is perfect....trust me i work for an orthodontist...I know... :) Good luck with your treatment
p.s elastics are usually the finalising part of your treatment so you shouldn't have too much longer to go
