Advice on buying a Waterpik?!

Question: I have braces and they told me to get a Waterpik to help with the cleaning. However I've been reading the mixed reviews on Amazon about each model. Many say that the machine quality is not what it used to be, it leaks, etc ... but don't offer any other suggestions. Does anyone know of a higher quality manufacturer of similar devices, or have good things to say about a specific model of Waterpik?

Thanks in advance!

Waterpik isn't bad. Try getting it at a pharmacy or a store so that way you can return it more easily. It works really well!

You'll probably only use it while you have the braces. If it leaks, so what. You'll be spattering the whole bathroom with the spray anyways. You're purchasing something with the intended lifespan of 18 months to 2 years, don't spend a fortune on a "quality" model. Most of my patients that have them confess they sit in the bathroom and collect dust. There is, however, no doubt they are great for people with braces.
Good luck
