Dental insurance?!

Question: I am on disability.....SSI and I also have Medicaid....does Medicaid cover dental? If not, does anyone know of an AFFORDABLE dental insurance. I only get $720 per month which is practically impossible to live on. I have already had to cancel my car insurance (no, I'm not driving uninsured.....if I need to go somewhere I use my mother's car). I have to have about $4,000 worth of dental work done and I simply cannot afford it.......my only other choice is to let my teeth rot out of my head, which I really don't want to do. Can anyone help?

Depending on the state you live in, Medicaid should cover your dental work, if you can find a dentist that accepts it. There is also Care Credit, a program like a credit card, that you are approved for a certain amount of money, then pay monthly. Also you can try your local dental school, which may have income based fees. Please don't let your teeth rot out, decayed teeth cause so many other health problems.

Check and see if there's a United Cerebral Palsy Association near you... they have a dental clinic on site and accept medicaid... you should be eligible to go there since you have some kind of a disability...

Good luck to you.

Dental insurance would be too expensive and has a small maximum a year compared to the work you need. Some states have community dental clinics which help with work, bank loan, or CareCredit. The best choice is to find a local dental school. It takes some time to get all the work done, but they do good work for much less and sometimes free.
