My dentist is a bit weary of those who want NHS treatment. Why?!
Question:
My dentist is a bit weary of those who want NHS treatment. Why?
Surely people who are unemployed/on benifits/disabled get the treatment payed for them by the NHS.
Answers:
Many dentists have issues with the way that they are paid for NHS work and have had for sometime. That is why in some places it is increasingly difficult to find a dentist willing to treat you as an NHS patient or as happened to myself some practices will gently "squeeze out" NHS patients unwilling or unable to become private patients.
The government has a significant hand in this, just as it does with most of the NHS's problems.
