Answers: has anyone had fillings done by a dentist what was not necessary as the teeth were alright in the first place and now suffer,

dont know about fillings but they,ve been trying to pull a tooth of mine out for over ten years, I keep refusing to let them as its not bothering me and they keep saying but it will bother you, well I,ll just wait until it does and who knows that could be another ten years

nope sure havent sorry

i have been to the dentist and had noffin rong with my teeth den a few months later i had to go bak for a chek up and he made a whole in my tooth and it is killing me and i cant get an appointment till anover 3-4 weeks and its his fault

dont get me started on this issue - you go to one dentist they tell you you must have a filling go to another they tell you you dont need any and go to another they''ll tell you you need a filling elsewhere! i have such awful experinces with dentist i now have to go to a special dental clinic cos i am so scared - the last episode was i was told that i neede some deep cleaning and that it would hurt so i will need lots on injections - funny thing was i was a regular at the dentist so couldnt understand why i would need deep cleaning - anyway as you do you go along with the advice your dentist gives you - i ended up having a panic attack in the seat as he pumped the needle into my gums - the outcome being he never got to do the job so when i finally plucked up courage-some 2 years later - to go and see the dentist at this special clinic she said my teeth were i very good condition and only needed a little descaling and one minute filling - so where did this deep cleaning notion come from?? was it necessary? i have to assume not as my teeth are still in a state of good repair - on the other hand when i had a problem with a tooth and kept going back to the same dentist he said it was just a sensitive tooth - a little later half my tooth fell out - so in answer to your question - yes - in a round about way!! i do wonder if they look for something to do to get paid more!!!

If you had fillings done and are now having pain you could need to have your bite adjusted. Basically it's like the alignment on your tires. If you have a high spot on the filling it can cause discomfort. Call the dentist and ask to come in to have the fillings checked. Unfortunately there are lot's of greedy dentists out there that do work that may not be necessary but needing the bite adjusted is a very common thing.

yes, many years ago, thats why now I have a dentist who really cares,I stick to him like glue,as there are'nt many like him around, the rest too'' busy taking your money, you should ask around, about other dentist, dont suffer any more.

Yes. And to make it worse, halfway through the procedure my new dentist informed me that she was private, not NHS!!!
The following day I went on holiday to County Cork and the temporary filling came out. I was in agony throughout my holiday. When I got back and complained at the surgery they redid the filling and tried to charge me twice. Great experience. I didn't pay a penny.
