What's wrong with my gum?!

Question: About 6 days ago I went to the dentist to get a cavity filled. When i ate later that day it was quite painful to bite with that tooth. Plus the gum in between that tooth and the one in front of it was a blackish bluish color. The pain from the tooth has mostly subsided but the gum still hurts a lot when i eat and brush my teeth. It's also still a little blackish. Anybody know what could be wrong with it?

itmust be becase of the bruiusing caused due to the rubber dam used by the dentist to isolate the tooth to be filled.it will go off in a few days and for the pain u can use a xylocaine gel for oral use. in india it is available by the name like mucopain

Sounds normal to me. That is probably bruising.
(but I don't know much)

You have the dreaded septigumitis. I thought that was eradicated during the American Civil War.
