Is it a risk to put someone under general anesthesia while they have a cold?!

Question: I have a low grade fever of 100 degrees and my throat is sore along with congestion. I'm pretty sure it is sinuses.

I am supposed to get a wisdom tooth taken out on friday, and I'm pretty sure I won't be (all the way) better by then. I really don't want to put this surgery off, because I have already had to reschedule several times.

Should I still be able to have the surgery?

This is a judgment call on the part of the surgeon. You're going to feel sore from the extractions, you'll feel worse if you're ill.
Probably not a big deal--still, the surgeon should know.

yes

No but inform your doctor about your cold situation and he will decide about the surgery and good luck on your surgery and best wishes.
