Are the sinuses and the tongue senses linked n anyway?!

Question: The ears, nose and throat have a tube connecting at one point in the throat area internally . That is why if someone has a sinus infection or cold it can and does often affect the throat and the sinuses. There is congestion and sore or raw throat feeling then. Decongestants are good to use as well as sore throat lozenges as the sinus draining doesn't feel good and is what irritates the throat during that. When you get a cold, it often seems the sense of taste is dulled as well as the sense of smell seems like it's "gone" until it all improves and things smell and/or taste as they should instead of seeming flavorless or close to bland then. The ears can feel plugged up or the hearing may seem muffled until this is properly treated if it lingers and spreads.

Yes cant remember how but i know they are.

Yes. If your sinuses are blocked, your food seems to have no taste. That is because most of the enjoyment you get from food is by way of smell.

The tongue only perceives sweet, sour, salt and bitter. Your nose does the rest (if the sinuses are clear).
