If you mean the second tooth (molar), one tooth between that tooth and your wisdom teeth, that is the molar that is connected to the arterial system in the body. If you get an infection there, you could be doing damage to your arterial system that is going to your heart. The first molar, the one next to the wisdom teeth, goes to your heart muscle. An infection there can set up inflammation in your heart and many heart attacks happen this way; when you are older, of course, after the infection has been there for a while.

Root canals are notorious for creating infections. Make sure no amalgams are used. Typically, it is very hard to do a root canal and not affect the nerves of the adjoining teeth. I would make sure your dentist is the best. This is not a trivial thing you will be doing.

Keep in mind that primitive man had NO cavities. The reason you have cavities is diet related. This is a very strong arguement that you are nutrient deficient and I would look at changing the diet. See if you can find a Certified Nutritional Therapist in your area to test you for your specific deficiencies and then create a good diet for you.

good luck

It's always best to save the tooth if you can. Pulling one can cause the others to move and cause you more problems! It's more expensive to replace a tooth and not very good at that. I'd have it fixed and see if you can get a payment plan!

save it or your other teeth will split

whether you should keep it or not depends on it's function and quality. If it has an antagonist - a tooth it bites on in the opsosite jaw - it is a very useful tooth to have. To do a root canal is quite expensive, but I can promise you that what you said about replacing it later on will be MUCH more expensive, and MUCH more comlicated... So, I recommend you keep your tooth as long as it serves a purpose and is still in "good shape". Root canal is not that complicated and won't require more than 2, (Maybe 3) visits to the dentist and you have a tooth with a bright future;)

Good luck!

HI my friend,

I think what you can do now is:

1. If it is painful, and inflame, then it is likely infection for now. You need to gargle with salt water and Listerine big time, if possible get antibiotic for it.

2. If not, then you could still use Listerine and gargle salt water everyday. Then at the same time, you need to watch your diet. Anything oily like burgers, fries, and anything fried ought to be limited. Please have regular intake of teas (Asian way), then you should have sufficient Vitamin c's.

Root canal treatment, i think is very expensive, and more so in London where u are living now. so try to look for alternative. Not worth the money for now.

The above were my experience. Please brush your teeth regularly before sleep, or after a sweet drink or alcohol.

as a general rule never leta dentist take a tooth out unless there is no other option.
So hang on to all your teeth as long as you can.
I rememeber being told I needed a root canal treatment that would cost me 2000$ am in ireland.I went on holidays to the pholippines where u can walk into an dentist off f the street without any appointment. She siad she would try just filling the tooth. She did. it costs 10$ for the filling . thats 10 years ago and I have never had any bother with the tooth since. apparently these root canal treatments are not always successful and maybe after two years ur back to square one.Am sure glad I got a second opinion.
So now i really trust the dentists there and I always wait until I am there to get my teeth cleaned or dental work done. its 1/10 the price of the USA and basically with the saving u make you can often havea free holiday and spending money .
I notice also different drntists will tell u different things. Dentist A will say that tooth must come out it cant be filled the cavity is too big then dentist B will say sure we can try filling that cavity. I often had a toothache and was in pain and I knew the tooth should have come out ............but said nothing about the pain and just asked for a filling and that would kill the pain .So the despite the fact that I am pretty old anda chocoholic I still have most of my teeth. So there are many countrie s in europe Poland is an example where dental work is of a very high standard and very cheap . So u can have a free holiday instead of giving all that money to your dentist. So shop around and even Internationally.
good luck with whatever u decide
