Allow me to set you mind at ease. A Root Canal does not hurt any more than having a cavity in your tooth drilled and filled.

It takes a little more time than a regular filling. I just had one done about a month ago.... It was not as bad as people make it out to be. True in the past having a root canal was a very painful operation, now with all of the advances in dental technology it is more or less painless.

I hope this helps ease your fears a little!

I wish you well in your root canal, don't worry about it any more.... It will all be fine!

I have had three of them myself. The last one was December 20. The only one that hurt was the last one because it had to be done all at once instead of in two sessions like most are. It only hurt a little bit and once I took the pain medicine that they gave me I was fine. The first two didn't hurt at all.

Once they give you local anesthesia, (which is like a little pinch) you don't feel anything! After the anesthesia wears off, it will feel like a throbbing pain... but absolutely tolerable. and i don't have high tolerance for pain.

I have had 2 without laughing gas and they didn;t hurt at all. The worst part is the numbing shot in the gums.

I have had many root canals my teeth always hurt after dental work. The bad thing is my teeth broke soon after having the root canals (even 2 days) and now they hurt very much and I thought teeth were supposed to be dead after root canals? How can they hurt then?
