It really hurts when I chew - what's wrong?!

Question: OK, so whenever I chew my food the left side of my mouth hurts so bad I can barely eat. It feels a little stiff when I'm not eating, but there's no acute pain. The pain is all in my jaw, not my teeth, and it feels like there is a small lump (something swollen, maybe?). It's right in the spot where the bottom teeth connect to the top. Does anyone have any idea what's causing this?

On net check out TMJ and facial neuralgia.

go see a dentist, like NOW

either you have gum disease or maybe a cavity do you still have you wisdom teeth that mite also be the cause

It's probably your gums. Your gums might be swollen from not brushing properly. Go see a dentist and floss and brush regularly. Brush the gum area everyday. I would invest in an electric toothbrush and some anti-gingivitis mouthwash. If you notice your gums bleeding then you have gingivitis. It will go away if you brush and floss. If this isn't the case then get some Act mouthwash from a drugstore. It will keep your teeth strong and help prevent cavities.

U have an abscess in your mouth. U should rinse your mouth daily with good warm salt water and u should probably try some antibiotics to help with the swelling and pain. The thing is to bust it but PLEASE READ MORE ABOUT ABSCESS ASAP!
As soon as it's down or gone, go right to a dentist bcuz it will only get worst.

yeah, you prob. have an infection beneeth your gum's or possibly tooth decay(less likely cause it would start at the surface) but you should go get it checked out. it happened to me a while back and they said it was an ulcer of the gum's and it just had to be cleaned and im fine now. but really go see your dentist as soon as possible but until then keep that area of your mouth really clean.

TMJ... Have it and had it.

Although it could be from an impacted wisdom tooth, I think it's an abcess. I get them occasionally ever since I got my wisdom tooth out back there, and it sounds like what you mentioned. My dentist put me on antibiotics and recommended washing it wish Listerine everyday. Hope this helps. :]
