You'll need to floss regularly, so to make it easier when flossing, use floss threaders. You can buy them at your local drug store.

Or you could try Superfloss, but it's more expensive. It is easier though.

Also be sure to brush carefully regularly too, angle your brush along the brackets at a 45 degree angle to brush out the food that may be stuck in there. If you missed a few particles of food, just use a proxabrush (those tiny brushes) to remove it.

Don't forget to use an oral rinse too! Listerine is a good one.

The better your oral hygiene, the less time you'll have your braces on.

Avoid eating very sticky or hard foods, so that means no gum; and you'll have to cut hard into bite size pieces before eating them. This prevents breaking your braces.

brush and floss

do u floss. after brushing ur teeth.

just brush them like normal

Brush normally the parts that you can, and use the little tools they gave you (or should have given you) to get the areas under the wire where you can't reach.

I have braces and my orthodontist said that you clean them normally but you have to clean very well in the area between the gum and the appliance. The food that collects around the wire and the brackets can cause cavities, stains and unpleasent odors, so KEEP THEM CLEAN!
