Question:
Is there an alternative to a filling for a cavity?
It is probably a small one because it only hurts when I brush at a certain angle on the particular molar. Is there an alternative to getting a filling? Can they just chip away the cavity part if it hasn't gone too deep in the tooth maybe? Or something else? (I know they even use lasers to fill now, but I'm looking for another option if possible)

In order to get rid of the decay, the dentist would need to drill it out. Then the healthy teeth and root would need to be protected somehow. A filling is really the only option. If it is an anterior (front) tooth, they do have composite which is tooth colored and isn't noticable.
