I would like to know if anybody has ever got there money back on dentures?!

Question: I went to Allcare Dental and had them make dentures that were $1499 and then got a little discount. I'm on my second pair from them, since they can't seem to make them right for my mouth.
The second pair still isn't right. It's been since June, 2007, that they've been trying to get them right.
I have raw spots in my mouth yet, and they are sore.. I can't bear to eat anything that is hard to chew.
Do you think I can still get my money back?
I've been going back and forth to get them sanded down in places, but they are not right. I told them I'm not happy with them. Of coarse they say they look good.
The only problem I had with the original pair is, they were loose after 12 years of having them.
Please help if you can and tell me what I can do. I drive 75 miles round trip to see them every visit. I've went about 50 times aready.

I honestly can't tell you why you are having such problems with sore spots. It is very normal to have sore spots with dentures, because has your mouth changes, which will happen to everyone, areas that were not rubbing against the denture before, will start to rub. This results in a sore spot. Sometimes a patient can go into the dentist and get their denture adjusted to relieve the pressure on a sore spot, only to turn around and develop another sore spot in a different area, as the pressure is moved to another area.

The things that can cause a denture to just simply not fit are:

a distortion in the impression
incorrect teeth placement
warping of the plastic

I don't know if one of these things happened with yours, but could be a factor in it not fitting.
There are things that they can use, such as Thompsons marking sticks or PIP paste, to tell where the denture isn't seated properly.

I don't know about getting your money back. They may be willing to start over on another set for you, but even if you turned them into the better business bureau, they might claim you just have unrealistic expectations and nothing more would happen to them. Sometimes it is very hard to prove faulty dental work, and you might spend more money trying to fight them than you already have.

You can ask about the money, but chances are they won't refund it.

Several things come to mind here- Do you see the actual dentist when you go in or a technician? I think you need to see the head dentist and let him or her know about your dissatisfaction with the dentures they have provided. I do hope each time you went in they documented your complaint and their resolution of it. If you do not get satisfactory results going at this way you may need to go to another dentist for a second professional opinion.

I have never had this type of problem but I do know the frustrations of having a sore mouth from dentures.

I would try to remedy this with the practice, if this cannot be worked out you should probably seek legal advice.
