Why are my gums doing this?!

Question: My gums are almost growing over my braces. They are growing between my teeth, under the archwire. Why is this happening? It looks weird.

whoa, ask your orthodontist, because I'm not really sure what is going on.

I saw this alot during my internship at an ortho office. It makes it alot harder for us to put your elastics on. THats happens because you aren't keeping good enough Oral hygiene. You really need to brush at an angle and floss. Food gets really stuck in there and your gums get swollen and start going over your braces.

I currently have braces and i floss and brush and none of my gums are "growing" over my braces.

Brush 2-3 times a day and try .... to floss al least 3-4 times a week.

Braces suck and it's hard to clean your teeth. After my braces were taken off I found out I had a few new cavities. Basically try to take good care of your teeth by brushing, flossing, and using Listerine (or something like that) as much as possible and it should make the swelling go away (or at least down).
