How do you go about grinding down eye teeth?!

Question: do you just ask your dentist?

Answers: do you just ask your dentist?

If your eye teeth (cuspids) appear too long, your dentist can, without freezing, grind a small amount of enamel off of the tip of the tooth. He can't go too far or else he will expose the dentin under the enamel. This is not good because you will end up with a very sensitive tooth, AND, dentin is much softer than enamel and if it is exposed it will wear down VERY quickly through regular chewing of food, and even faster if you grind your teeth. Dentin is also more vulnerable to decay and once decayed, the decay can reach the pulp quickly resulting in nerve death (abscess).

Yeah. Obviously you're unconsciously doing it (sleep-wise). He'll often suggest you get a retainer to where when you sleep to protect your teeth.

Not sure if your question is miss types but if You're asking about grinding your death down just ask your dentist and they usually can to a certain point. I have pretty straight teeth without braces so I did end up having one tooth start to rise a little and go sideways. I ask if he could just grind it down little to help even and straighting my teeth out. He said it was fine because I had enough tooth for him to be able to without any problems.. A good dentist will know . Just ask!, Hope this helps.
