Teeth may be 'whiened' depending on the cause. The natural color of teeth is genetic and depends on the thickness of the enamel, which is translucent and also the color of the dentine inside, which forms the bulk of the tooth.
Discoloration may be extrinsic (outside, on the surface) or Intrinsic (in the substance of the tooth, happend at the time of formation of teeth)
Extrinsic stains like tea, coffee, smoking etc may be removed by baking soda + table salt mixture. It is an abrasive and in due course wear off the enamel if overdone. Your dentist can proffessionally clean teeth, with minimum of damage.
Intrinsic stains need bleaching, by chemicals, again best done by your dentist who will monitor it.
Using baking soda may take a long time, depending on the amount of stains you have. You need to first diagnose what is the cause of your stains or discoloration before taking any treatment steps

Use Arm & Hammer toothpaste.
Don't use actual baking soda.

Firstly this is a very bad idea that is wearing down the enamel of your teeth and eventually it will make your teeth go permantly yellow

1--- I knew someone who used to use it (and they regret it now) but they added a pinch to the toothpaste everynight

2--- Probably about 2 weeks but then they will go yellow if you keep doing it and you are likely to end up with very sensitive teeth.

3--- Ask your dentist about any speacilated toothpastes you could use. I would not reccomend laser whiting as it can also be very harmful.

I recentely watched this program about how celebs have such pearly white teeth. The smartest way I seen was these little clip on moulds that you wear - you have to remove them when you eat but it is a much safer way than anything else i've heard of.

Baking soda is actually a good idea. I would recommend you could get whitening toothpaste, crest white strips. I have seen they are very good.

Also i think you first brush your teeth with baking soda and then with normal totthpaste or the other way around

Hope I helped :)

Don't use baking soda instead you can go for advice from dental surgeon,he will do bleaching so that teeth will become white in color
