I have to get braces but I'm scared please HELP?

I'm a 22 year old female i'm getting braces soon. I wanna know the basics of getting braces I need to know how the pain feels & how long it takes for them to put them on. Also I need to know a color that fits me. I'm a caramel color skin please help me pick out the color rubberbands I should start out with. Well, don't worry, I am 30 and just got mine in January.
I was very anxious because I didn't know what to expect.
When they first put them on all you feel is pressure like if you pushed on your teeth with your finger. It takes 45 min to an hour to put on the top ones, I go tomorrow to get the bottom ones.
The spacers they put in first hurt the worst, they make room in between your molars for the bracket a couple of weeks before to make room. They just make your teeth hurt, so you will not be able to chew anything for about 3 days. Then they slowly get better until you no longer feel them at all.
Each time you get them adjusted you will feel that same tenderness for a couple of days. Then you'll get used to it.
My fave color so far is teal, or light blue, I tried purple, but the darker colors don't show up as well, no one could tell what the color was. So since you have darker skin I would go with the lighter color bands. Pink, yellow, light blue, light green.
Once you get them you will notice your teeth getting straighter so fast...that's when you can take the pain.
It's totally worth it.
