is this a healthy dinner?!
Question: Is this a healthy dinner?
2 eggs, scrambled with diced up ham, tomato and green pepper
2 slices of turkey bacon
1 piece of wheat toast with sugar free strawberry jam
Answers:
yes! everything in moderation!
So eating this every once in a while is good.
It provides alot of good protein, a complex carb, and vegetables!
Eggs are great brain food as well, but the con is the amount of sodium in an egg.
(egglands are a great choice)
The turkey bacon will contain less fat than pork bacon, but the sodium will still be high, there are multiple kinds that advertise low sodium or 50% less sodium, etc. try those and see if they live up to your standards and if they dont, hey! remember a little sodium isnt bad, salt is a need for your body.
& limit sugar free things they contain pesky perservatives and artificial sweetners, try natural or organic! you'll feel great about the choice you made!
& when getting whole wheat look for 100% whole wheat or it's not fully beneficial.
I hope I helped(:
I work with dieticians
It's fairly healthy, but it wouldn't be if you ate it all the time. The reason is the ham and the turkey bacon. They contain quite a bit of salt and sodium nitrite. But your breakfast IS low in fat.
I'd substitute the bacon for some fresh fruit. Then you'd have a nice, healthy, well-rounded breakfast.
I would replace the ham with some reduced fat cheese, and then it would be! Ham is (most times) not a very healthy meat because it can contain nitrites and be higher in fat. If you want to keep it in, I suggest getting extra lean ham that is all natural and nitrite free :)
I like this one. http://findsth.info/459291/wheat

The turkey bacon and ham have too much sodium in them.
