Stress and Weight Loss?!
Question: Stress and Weight Loss?
I was losing weight before that, about 1/2 pound a week, but I'm not sure why that was. My friend says it was dehydration and I think she was right. Her mom's a nurse, so she usually knows about this kind of thing. But it's not dehydration anymore because I've been staying hydrated.
I'm really worried because I feel like I'm starting to LOOK skinnier, which will worry my mom, of course. She thinks I weigh 113.4 pounds because I lie to her about it so she won't worry. She thinks I was too skinny when I wasn't underweight (at 5'4" and 110 pounds), so I don't want her to worry because I don't diet.
I'm not anorexic. I don't think I'm beautiful and I think I'm ugly, but I KNOW I'm NOT fat.
Here's an example of the people at school being mean to me. I was in reading class today and I was joking with my friend about who Alex Pettifer would choose (me or her) if he had the choice. I was saying he would pick me, which he totally wouldn't, but then I heard multiple people saying he would choose my friend over me. I was just joking and my friend knows that, but they said it right to my face. I'm getting really tired of it and I'm thinking of transferring next year to a different school (I'm only a freshman in high school). I'm pretty sure this is adding to my stress.
Thanks for your help!

Hello there
stress does bad things for the body and yes it can reduce appetite however what is happening to you is not healthy weight loss. your body is being starved of important nutrients so please try to eat a smallmeal or snack every few hours. by not eating your metabolism will slow down and you will lose important muscle mass as the weight you lose on this type of diet is not usually a lot of fat weight, it is mainly muscle.
I suggest you peak to a counsellor about strategies to manage stress in your life but please try to eat more
many thanks
