Eat a little protein 1 hour before you workout. Then you can have a meal after wards. A nice protein shake is good to have after a workout. I use the Ultimate Meal which provides several nutrients that you could never consume in a day. It also gives you a lot of protein as well.

Eat after your workout. If you eat beforehand, you can get nauseous, and wind up sick. Your body won't have enough time to digest the food. I recommend a protein shake before working out, because some things like whey protein can be digested very quickly.
Anything called the insanity workout, should make you puke!
Eat at least a half hour after wards. Give your system to reestablish your blood back to near status- quo.
Eat a protein bar an hour before and your usual meal after.
If you're working out that hard I would suggest that you do the workout then wait about 15mins to eat.
eat after....if you eat before..eat a snack...something lite...like chewy bars
