Question: Why do steroids make you so hungry!?
I'm on a methylprednisolone script right now and it's making me feel like I haven't eaten in weeks, what is it about steroids that makes you so dang hungry!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

When you are taking a different dose than what your body is used to, it kick starts your metabolism into overdrive!.

Steroids help in rebuilding muscles!. In order for muscles to have the protein and carbs they need to rebuild themselves the body needs substance!. Because your body is lacking the nutrition it needs it sends signals to your brain that make you hungry so you will then eat!.
Something can't come from nothing!. People can't get fat without consuming more calories than they burn just like muscle can't regenerate without a food source!.
It is very important you eat a good diet!. Do not eat crap food!. Make absolutely sure to eat a lot of protein along with some healthy carbs like rice!. Actually rice and beans with a piece of chicken would be great!. Don't for get to drink lots of water!. Without water your body shuts down!. Water is like your cars oil and protein with good carbs is like a high octane fuel!.

Because they are strecting you muscles!. Often when your muscles get tired it causes you to feel hungry!. It is also done on purpose!. You need to eat everytime you take a steroid because your muscleds need fat to build up!. If you take steroids on and empty stomach you will get very sick because your stomache is eating itsself to try and build fat for your muscles!. Just make sure and eat helthy!.
