Why does my back hurt when I do crunches?!

Question: Why does my back hurt when I do crunches!?
if i do crunches, after I've done about 15 of them, my back starts to really hurt!. Its nothing to do with the floor being too hard and i think I'm doing it just like it shows online, but it still hurts!. Is it something to do with my back muscles being exercised, or am I arching my back!. Please, I want to exercise my abs, but I'm afraid that if I do too much the way I am now, I'll do damage to my back so if you know why I would be felling pain when I do crunches please tell me!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

When you work out your abs you need to also work out your back!. You may just be stressing your back too much because it's not as strong as your abs!. Try doing some back exercises and the pain should go away!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If you're a beginner, why not try having your knees bent!. This will take a lot of strain off your back!. Then imagine there is an invisible string running through your belly button into the floor!. As you come up, pull your stomach into the floor-"pull the string down"!. Come up slowly and don't jerk your body!. Hope this helps!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You may have to strengthen your back muscles!. Sit-ups will help also push-ups and an exercise called superman!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I have the same problem!. When I do crunches in gym class (on the hard gym floor) it hurts my back/spine!! I think it has something to do with arcing your back!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

you're not doing them right!. to pull yourself, you should use your ab muscles only!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

because you are a new comer to it maybe!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
