Whoops i broke my diet?!


Question: Whoops i broke my diet!?
i have been doing so well i have steadily been losing1-2Ibs a week and my bmi is now 23 but tonight my boyfriend got me a takeaway and i way overate i had a 1/4 cheese burger, cheesy chips and onion rings now i feel sick and guilty lol i have a home gym do you think a good workout will help me out yuck i hate eating this much i know slap on the wrist Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yeah - I know that feeling well! I get depressed over something and my whole weeks calorie intake is consumed in 30 minutes!

Still - there is no reason to feel so guilty! You seem to be having enough problems without worrying so much about the food!.

Anyway - I have a personal trainer at my gym and, actually they ALL stress this point very often - you should have one cheat day a week!. She always says to stick to a diet 6 days a week and then have a cheat day 1 day a week - that doesn't mean to go crazy and knock yourself out by eating only chocolate and hoards of it - but go out to eat, eat that slice of cake - enjoy it! And then, then, get back to your normal days or not eating it!.

This really helps your body not get too adjusted to the same routine!. Your metabolism will slow down if you are staying on the same calorie intake day after day!. So you are supposed to change things up!. Plus this gives us all something to look forward to!

I lost 48 pounds a few years ago and got to my goal weight and have since kept it off!. Also - we all slip up! Don't beat yourself up over it! RELAX!!!! Life is too short to always worry about this stuff!.

Don't worry about this at all hun, a good healthy diet with excercise still allows for the occassional treat!. And yes, a good workout will help burn a lot of cals!.

Basically, If you really want to lose weight and have a healthy body then you need to do two things!. Just two things!. They are called EATING HEALTHY AND EXCERCISE!!!!!!! Thats it!. There is no need to follow a specific fad diet or go to blo**y weightwatchers or anything else!.

First of all you have to eat a healthy diet!. This doesn't mean go on a crappy fad diet or starve yourself!!! It means that you make sure you eat 4 or even 5 small to medium meals a day!. Each meal, apart from breakfast, (preferably fibre rich with fruit) should have a combination of protien (chicken/fish/soya etc), carbohydrates (pasta/rice/potatoes/etc), and vitamins, minerals and antioxidants (fresh fruit and veg)!. There are many easy ways to incorporate all these into every meal!. This also doesn't mean you can never have pizza/takeaway/chocolate/etc, just save them for the occassional treat!. Maybe once a week at the weekend is fine!. More even if you excercise a lot, as long as you are getting your basic nutritional needs too!.

Secondly you need to EXCERCISE!. Cardio excercise is anything that will get you out of breath, your heart rate pumping and you sweating (running, swimming, cycling, etc) and is necessary for burning calories, shedding body fat and improving your overall fitness levels!. Strength training basicaly improves the muscles and tones your body, this comes from weight training, core training (sit ups/planks/etc), stretching (such as yoga) and dynamic training!. This is necessary to keep your body strong and supple and will also help you lose weight and tone up!.

This is only an extremely brief overview, but both of these are necessary to lose weight healthily, keep it off, and have a strong healthy body!.

Don't worry you're only human! Don't feel that you've failed just cos of 1 night of bingeing!. My advice is that you get back on your healthy eating programme tomorrow and have a good workout to burn off the extra calories!.

P!.s!. Having an occasional night of takeaways is not bad, at the end of the day if you deprive yourself from ever having junk food you are more likely to give up on your diet!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Calm down, as you are allowed to pig out, and start again tomorrow, long as you don't do this every night! You can restart tomorrow but just healthier all week, no slapped wrists from me, you are doing great! Your bmi is normal is it not!? Anyway, try not to stress!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
