Question:

Do you have any secrets...?

for not eating after dinner? I'd like to know if there's an easy way to just not have anything to eat until the next morning? Do you know of something that would stop cravings?


Answers:

Make sure you drink enough water. Often we interpret thirst as hunger. Go for a nice glass of cold water, and see if you feel relieved...if you were, you were actually thirsty.

I have been known to use plantago powder between meals. It's a little gross, but if you swallow it down with an extra glass of water on top, it swells in your stomach and stops the "munchies".

Do something else! Sometimes when I *know* I shouldn't be hungry (like an hour after supper!) I will tell myself, "Well, let's do (whatever); if I'm still hungry in half an hour I can have a bit of fruit etc." Usually by that time I've forgotten all about it.

And lastly, as a friend of mine says, "Hunger is pain in your stomach." If you are "hungry" but not sure what you want, you're not hungry. That kind of "hunger" is usually boredom, stress or loneliness.
