I would go to your local Y, they have a thing called water aerobics, that are really great when you are uncomfortably overweight because you can work out for longer periods of time. Really, just running on a treadmill is great. If you buy a $300 treadmill and speedwalk, or run, whichever is comfortable, 1 hour a day, you will lose a lot of weight. If your kids go to school close walk them everyday and pick them up too when school starts back.
