When you go to the gym, what constitutes a cardio workout?!
Question: When you go to the gym, what constitutes a cardio workout!?
like how long do you need to be on an elliptical to have a cardio workout!.
I lift, so I just get on the elliptical for 6 minutes to warm up!. I'm sweating a lot once I'm done with the 6 minutes but I guess that's not real cardio because they people next to me have been on the machine for 30-60 minutes!.
So in other words, what exercises do I have to do and how long do I need to do them for, for them to be considered cardio!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Cardio is exercise designed and thought out to make you breath and get your heart racing, not just your heart, the lungs! Its not how much time, but the how you do it!. Running on the tredmile or pedalling on the bike are good cardio for atleast 20 minutes or more!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Anything that gets your heart beating fast! You can try climbing stairs, riding the stationary bike, treatmill, elliptical!. You shoudl do any of these, or mixed up for atleast 30 minutes total!. I aim for 45 minutes split between 2 machines!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
To be more specific, it's actually your heart rate!.
It depends on your age, but usually you want it up around 160 beats per minute!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
