Enouth to lose weight?

I do a 25 minute brisk walk 5 days a week, i am trying to tone up/ lose 1/2 stone for holidays, i have cut out crisps and chocolate. Do you think i am doing enough to lose this weight by September?

your BMR is between 2050-2300 per day. that's how many calories per day you need to sustain your current body weight. to lose 1lb of fat per week, you need to drop500 calories per day.

the main way to lose weight is through your diet, not exercise. although it does play an important role for overall health.

even though the body can lose up to 2lbs of fat per week, i would not recommend you go below 1500 calories, as this will not be healthy and will most likely impede your goal. at such a low intake, your body will hold onto everything you put into it, and will burn up muscle for energy before it will use fat.

in answer to the walking, it won't raise your heart rate very much, which is what you need to 'burn' calories. you'll need to increase the intensity.

7lbs can be lost in 7wks. september is about 8 weeks away? give or take.. either way you 'll be able to reach it if you change your diet to suit.
