Is 19.4% a good body fat percentage for an 18 year old male?!
Question: Is 19!.4% a good body fat percentage for an 18 year old male!?
I know I'm getting to be a bit 'squishy' around the middle (36!.5 inches), but I'd like to know how much weight is considered 'overweight' in regards to body fat percentage!. I exercise regularly, I eat healthily, I feel generally healthy!. Do you think this is a good body fat percentage to be at!?
I have athlete friends with 10%, 8%, and even 6% body fat!. Compared to that, I feel really fat at 19% but I don't think I really look too much fatter than them!.

Whatever you do do not try and get down to whatever your BMI tells you too - this doesn't take into account water weight or muscle mass and can lead to you thinking you need to loose x% of body fat when really, you could be fine!.

for your age a healthy range would be from 12-16% for a non-athlete!. the higher the body fat % the easier it is for the body to continually increase fat stores!. adipose tissue is also a major conversion site for testosterone to estrogens!. the level of body fat that a person has is pretty much a direct indicator of the bodies current ability to utilize nutrients efficiently!. as insulin sensitivity decreases there is less nutrient uptake in muscle cells and more in fat cells!. fat cells do not become resistant to the effects of insulin!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

i think that would be fine but if u think you need to loose a few punds then running is probably the best way!.
