Question: Does being lactose intolerant effect absorption of nutrition!?
So, my question is whether or not being lactose intolerant will effect the digestion of whatever you're consuming!. Like, if you drink milk, will you be able to absorb the calcium and vitamins just as well!? Does only the lactase enzyme not get digested!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

It's actually a type of sugar in milk and dairy products that is called lactose!. When you are lactose intolerant, your body does not have enough of the enzyme lactase that breaks down lactose!. Usually, you get cramps, nausea and diarrhea!. You still get the vitamins and minerals as they are absorbed while in the intestinal tract, but if you have diarrhea you will not absorb enough as things are moving too fast!.

Head to the drug store and get some chewable tablets that you take before having dairy products!. Ask the pharmacist to explain how to use it!. There are tablets that have the lactase enzyme in them and they let your body break down that pesky lactose that causes your problems!.

Lactose intolerance means your intestines are lacking in lactase enzyme, which breaks lactose down to glucose and galactose, which can then be absorbed!. This means the lactose stays being lactose but you absorb glucose and glactose from other sources!. All the other nutrients in milk will still be absorbed!. Eat well but only when hungry and not more than thrice a day!. Include plenty of uncooked vegetables and fruits in each meal, preferably 50%!. To have more satisfaction out of ur food, Chew each morsel at least 32 times!. This will also activate ur body to generate signals of hunger/fullness!. Obey these signals!. Do not go on fast or starvation diet!.
