Best machine/technique, for toning obliques at home?!
Question:
Best machine/technique, for toning obliques at home?
Few gyms seem to have machines for toning up one's obliques. It's my favorite exercise for the stomach area and I want to simulate the effect of a good machine in my home.
Twisting with a medicine ball--isn't doing it for me. I want high resistance.
Sidebends and weighted sidebends--chiro recommends against it.
Perhaps some of those dense elastic bands some home gym kits have? What will give me a really difficult twisting motion for my obliques? It's got to be inexpensive and something I can do outside the gym.
Thank you.
Answers:
Try the oblique crunch or using rubber bands tied to a sturdy door jam for a "cable crunch". Those are pretty good toning techniques. If the goal is muscle definition, then the key is losing body fat. You need to drop body fat under 10% to see the oblique definition.
