In general, drinking lots of water does help you lose weight. Drinking water that has been boiled would help you lose weight because it's just a variation on the water you normally drink.
I used to go to work and have a cup of hot water at my desk. I just needed something nice an hot to drink but I didn't want calories. I didn't want low-cal. I didn't want coffee. The very hot water didn't taste bad to me, it just tasted like water and it was hot. I liked it just fine! You can put a slice of lemon in it if you need some flavor but it's fine just by itself.
