Is it true that drinking COLD water is better than at room temperature?

and why is this?


Answers:

It makes the body work harder to warm up ice cold water to get it to your body's temperature. This burns maybe a few calories more than normal. This, however, is not enough of a difference to really matter. It's not like if all you do is start drinking ice water instead of room temp water you'll drop 50 lbs. It's not a big enough difference to notice.

However, if you are really working out hard and sweating a lot, you should go ahead and drink room temp water. Your body is working hard enough already, and room temp water will hydrate you faster, which is what you need.
