Why is it our children in the U.S are so over weight?!

Question:

Why is it our children in the U.S are so over weight?

If you've ever been to Wal-Mart or Disney World, you can see kids as young as 6 w/ fat rolls. The worst part is watching these kids order Mickey Mouse Ice cream bars and washing them down w/ sprite. Are kids really so hungry they have to eat constantly, or are they eating too much? Are video games and t.v the problem?

Answers:

Well, that's a very interesting question. I believe many have wondered why the children in the united states are so over weight. An obvious answer may be that children are just eating too much and this is the inevitable truth, yes, but there is a reason. In the details of your question you describe such places as Wal-Mart and Disney world, these places are known as environments, and the environment in which a child is exposed affects the overall eating habit of a child. Disney World sells many sugary snacks, when a child is exposed to such an environment, they can't help but consume these type of foods. Let's say that you put a child in an environment, such as a farm, they will not be exposed to fatty foods, but fruit and vegetables, so they have no choice to eat these foods, and i also think that, some blame should be put on the parents, it is their main responsibility to promote the health of their child. Another reason is television, no it's not because they watch TV programs on TV, but the advertising that is put into effect, more and more fatty foods are being advertised. If you expose a child to bad eating habits from the start, they continue this habit.
